Happy Holidays!

We had our first snow last week (and it’s snowing again as I write this), which has put us in the holiday spirit.  That and Tom's Christmas village, which he insists on setting up completely by himself (bless him) every year.  I got the tripod and stretched out on the floor and took a few shots of it yesterday. (This is by no means all of it.) I enjoy photographing decorations at holiday time and try to get the overall image and then some details. Probably the most difficult part (other than getting in and out of position to do it), is getting the proper white balance when you have different light sources.

We have had folks ask us where they can see more of our images. We have some work at Plum Nelly in Chattanooga, and some on Signal Mountain at Cutting Corners Framing Shop. We are happy that we now also have some of our images on a website where they can be viewed and also be purchased as prints or notecards. On the website you will find a couple of galleries of local images but most of the galleries will be our fine art images. We are adding more images almost daily and we hope that you enjoy seeing them. Click on any gallery to see the images on it or on an image for more information about it.

We have updated our website to list our upcoming local workshops.  There are still spaces for the Iceland trip (click here for some images from our last trip). We will be firming up our 2013 schedule after the first of the year so you might want to check the website for the 2013 international trips after the holidays. We are also doing more individual lessons which are great for folks who want to learn more about their camera controls or need a jump start with Lightroom.

A big Thank You to all of you who have joined this past year. We love seeing old friends again and meeting new ones. We wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and a joyful new year filled with lots of great photography.

Old Car City

Located north of Atlanta, Old Car City is billed as the largest collection of old cars in the world. We were introduced to this fun place a few weeks ago when the Photographic Society of Chattanooga offered a field trip there. (Camera club field trips can be a great way to learn about and visit  locations that are good photographic opportunities.) There are two lots of old cars at Old Car City. The first lot has the cars that are in a little better condition and a bit more spread out from each other. Then there is a huge back portion that has an absolutely amazing assortment of cars and trucks, many piled together. The photographic possibilities are rather amazing. There is an admission fee and you will be asked to sign a release.  It is well worth a visit.
