Wildflower/Macro Photography

 

Thursday, April 8, 2010 6:00p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

 

Learn how to capture the beauty of nature up close using your camera or lens’ macro  feature.  Begin with a photo lecture by professional nature photographers Tom and Pat Cory that will demonstrate good techniques for successful close-up photography, just in time for spring wildflowers.  Then practice photographing colorful flowers with hands-on help.

 

Fee: $45 ($30 for aquarium members) Includes instruction and instructional materials plus admission. Limited to 15 participants.

Friday Evening, April 23-Sunday Noon, April 25

 

Focus your lens on the “Scenic City” during an exciting workshop for digital or film photographers of all levels.  We will present lectures on how to photograph specific subjects, with hands-on instruction in the field.  Begin at the Tennessee Aquarium and capture sharks, butterflies, jellyfish and other critters on film.  Snap images of Chattanooga’s beautiful urban riverfront and get close-ups of animals at the Chattanooga Zoo. Natural attractions include spring wildflowers, streams and waterfalls at a private reserve with an opportunity to create Civil War portraits in an historical setting.  Includes individual hands-on instruction in the field, box lunch, dinner, picnic brunch, snacks and beverages.

This workshop gives us the unique opportunity to photograph the fish, animals, and birds in the TN Aquarium after hours. In addition the butterfly, seahorse, penguin and new jellyfish exhibits will be sure to capture your interest. We will begin with a short lecture/slide show discussing techniques for photographing in the aquarium. Then we will go into the aquarium where we will photograph in both the Ocean Journey and River Journey buildings with hands-on instruction.

 

Fee: $45 ($30 for aquarium members) Includes instruction and instructional materials plus admission. Limited to 20 participants.

 

Fall Photography Workshop

 

Saturday, October 2, 2010, 1-4

 

Get ready to photograph autumn.  We will review the techniques for successful and fun fall photography through entertaining instructional presentations followed by hands-on photography at the Tennessee River Gorge’s Pot Point House. We will also describe some of the photographic opportunities throughout the week with the River Rocks Festival. 

 

Includes lecture/slide show and individual hands-on instruction in the field, snacks and beverages.
